Exhibition Industry Digital Equipment R&D and Production Project of Changchun City
1. Introduction to the Project
1.1 Project background
1.1.1 Product introduction
The digital equipment industry in the exhibition industry covers two major categories: digital display equipment and intelligent exhibition equipment. Digital display devices are based on digital image technology and integrate various hardware technologies such as touch screens, infrared sensors, and projections. They are widely used in real estate displays, digital cities, historical site restoration, virtual tours, event effects, project rehearsals, industrial simulations, urban planning, architectural design, cultural and tourist attraction displays, industrial facility and process simulations, film and television production, product displays, and other fields. These devices emphasize the functionality of display, experience, and interaction, providing diverse display methods and excellent user experience.
With the widespread application of new generation digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and virtual reality, the exhibition industry has ushered in new development momentum, giving birth to emerging exhibition formats and models such as one-stop exhibition technology platforms that integrate virtual and real worlds, and metaverse technology scenes. The rapid progress in the field of technology has driven upstream and downstream enterprises in the exhibition industry to restructure their organizational structure, work methods, and business processes. The digital equipment industry in the exhibition industry has shown strong development momentum and a wide range of application scenarios in terms of technology integration, personalized content, interactive experience, and the combination of online and offline.
1.1.2 Market prospect
(1) The current situation of the digital equipment industry in the exhibition industry
2023 marks the first year of China’s exhibition industry fully returning to offline activities. With the steady recovery of the national economy, the continuous strengthening of policy support, and the gradual recovery of international exchanges, China’s exhibition industry will show a comprehensive recovery and positive trend in 2023. Local government departments are actively promoting the rapid recovery and development of offline exhibitions. The domestic exhibition market has strong demand, and the number and area of China’s economic and trade exhibitions in 2023 have achieved significant growth compared to 2022. The exhibition industry as a whole is showing a comprehensive recovery trend.
The distribution of economic and trade exhibitions in 2023 shows a clear regional concentration trend, with the eastern region leading the country in both the number and area of economic and trade exhibition projects, accounting for 68.26% and 73.53% of the national total, respectively; Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta regions remain hot spots for exhibition activities. In 2023, the number of economic and trade exhibitions held in these three regions accounted for 57.35% of the national total, and the total exhibition area accounted for 63.27% of the national total; especially in the Yangtze River Delta region, a total of 1031 economic and trade exhibitions were held in 2023, with a total exhibition area of 43.98 million square meters, accounting for 26.28% and 31.14% of the national total, respectively. From the perspective of industry distribution, industrial and technology exhibitions rank first in both quantity and area among all industry exhibitions.
The Central Economic Work Conference in 2023 emphasized that the basic trend of China’s economic recovery and long-term improvement remains unchanged. The exhibition industry, as a key platform for building a modern market system and an open economic system, plays an important role in promoting economic growth and industrial linkage. A successful exhibition can activate the entire industry chain and enhance the overall image of a city. Therefore, various regions attach greater importance to the platform role of the exhibition industry in opening up to the outside world, regional economy, industrial upgrading, and investment promotion, and strengthen policy support.
The exhibition industry will continue to play a role in promoting economic circulation, driving industrial upgrading, and accelerating regional economic development, contributing to economic recovery. Looking ahead to 2024, the international development of China’s exhibition industry will face more new opportunities. Many regions across the country have set the goal of enhancing the internationalization level of the exhibition industry, such as Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Chengdu and other cities that are committed to building international exhibition capitals.
In this development process, the government and industry associations will play a key role in promoting the healthy and sustainable development of the exhibition industry by formulating favorable policies and providing professional guidance. Meanwhile, with the acceleration of digital transformation, the integration of online and offline exhibitions will become a new development trend, bringing richer and more convenient experiences to exhibitors and visitors. In addition, the concept of green exhibitions will gradually become popular, leading the exhibition industry towards a more environmentally friendly and sustainable direction.
(2) The prospects of the digital equipment industry in the exhibition industry
The digital exhibition hall utilizes cutting-edge technologies such as digital technology, virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR) to simulate and reproduce the actual exhibition or display space environment. With the continuous deepening of global digital transformation, digital exhibition halls have been widely used in various fields such as art, cultural heritage, education, and commercial exhibitions.
According to the latest statistics, the global market size of digital exhibition halls has reached 30 billion US dollars. The main factors driving market growth include the rapid development of technology, the increasing demand for digital content, and the growing popularity of online visitor experiences. The digital exhibition hall market is steadily growing at a rate of 6% per year and is expected to have reached $50 billion by 2030.
The main driving forces for growth include:
-Technological innovation: The continuous progress and cost reduction of technologies such as VR and AR have made digital exhibition halls more popular and practical.
-Cultural and educational demand: The increasing application of digital display in cultural heritage protection, educational resource sharing, and other fields has driven the expansion of market demand.
In the business field, the application of digital exhibition halls includes product display, virtual shopping experience, etc., which continuously expand the application scenarios and audience scope of the market.
With the gradual recovery of the global economy and the acceleration of digital transformation, the exhibition industry will face new development opportunities and challenges in the next five years (2024-2029). As a key platform connecting enterprises, industry experts, and consumers, exhibitions play an indispensable role in promoting business exchanges, showcasing innovative technologies, and driving industry development.
Environmental protection and sustainable development have become hot topics of global concern, and the exhibition industry is no exception. In the next five years, green exhibitions will become the mainstream trend. The exhibition organizers will pay more attention to environmental protection measures, such as reducing the use of disposable items, promoting renewable energy, and optimizing waste management. These measures can not only reduce the impact of exhibitions on the environment, but also enhance brand image and attract more exhibitors and visitors who are concerned about environmental protection.
With the progress of science and technology and the widespread popularity of the Internet, digital and virtual exhibitions will become an important trend in the exhibition industry. Virtual exhibitions break geographical boundaries, allowing global audiences to easily participate while reducing exhibition costs and improving exhibition efficiency. In the next five years, more and more exhibitions will adopt a mixed mode of online and offline, providing a richer and more diversified exhibition experience.
The acceleration of global digital transformation provides vast market development space for digital exhibitions. The application of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain in digital exhibitions has brought new opportunities for market innovation and growth.
1.1.3 Technical analysis
Digital transformation is an important way for exhibition enterprises to enhance their risk resistance and market competitiveness. Digital exhibition services enable enterprises to fully utilize online space in the cloud, and through the application of digital tools, multiple entities such as organizers, exhibitors, and visitors can effectively break through the temporal and spatial limitations of traditional offline scenarios, achieving deep cooperation and communication across regions and industries. Digital exhibition management helps enterprises optimize operating costs, improve management efficiency, reduce the cost and technical barriers of exhibiting and hosting exhibitions, and attract more exhibitors and visitors, thereby enhancing exhibition effectiveness. At present, the understanding and acceptance of digitalization by various entities in the exhibition industry are constantly deepening, and they are laying out digital transformation and upgrading.
