At present, there are three main methods for storing hydrogen: gaseous, liquid, and solid hydrogen storage. Among them, high-pressure gaseous hydrogen storage technology has become one of the mainstream technologies in the field of hydrogen storage due to its high maturity. This project plans to produce 100,000 hydrogen storage cylinders/year, with the goal of improving the performance and production efficiency of hydrogen storage cylinders. 1.1.2 Market prospect

(1) Current market situation

China has abundant hydrogen resources, and is the world’s largest hydrogen producing country. In 2020, China’s hydrogen output exceeded 25 million tons, ranking first in the world for several consecutive years. Among them, the output of hydrogen with a purity of over 99.99% was about 299,800 tons.

Since 2018, the development of hydrogen energy industry in China has presented an explosive growth trend. At the “NPC & CPPCC” in early 2019, hydrogen energy was written into the government work report for the first time, symbolizing that the development of the hydrogen energy industry entered a new level. 1.1.3 Technical analysis

As for the process flow for preparing hydrogen storage cylinders, firstly, make thermoplastic olefin polymer into an inner liner, then inspect the surface for defects such as wrinkles and dents, and then enter the fiber winding process. After labeling and curing, polish the outer surface, and after passing the static pressure test, make the final inspection of the finished products.

1. Rotary-molded inner liner

Load polyolefin powder with high melt index and good flowability into a rotational molding mold. The mold is heated to above the melting point of polyolefin, and two axes in different directions simultaneously rotate and revolve the mold. After melting, the powder is evenly distributed in the mold into a hollow structure. After molding, it is cooled and de-molded, presenting a roughly cylindrical bottle with uniform radius. The advantages of rotational molding process are uniform wall thickness and simple molding process, but there are also problems of low compactness and easy formation of defects with the products, so the inner liner wall thickness cannot be too thin. When the molded inner liner enters the next process for carbon fiber winding, it will sink inward under pressure, so a certain amount of air pressure should be filled inside to balance the tension of the fibers.

2. Fiber winding

The middle and outermost layers of the hydrogen storage cylinders are made by winding process. Fiber winding is one of the most advanced methods for manufacturing hollow composite components, and it is capable of producing storage cylinders ranging from 1 to 100 m³. The carbon fiber reinforced resin winding process includes a winding unit, a resin impregnation unit, and a control unit.

3. Microwave curing

The key to evaluating the security performance of hydrogen storage cylinders is the mechanical properties of carbon fiber and glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin composite materials, including matrix cracking, fiber/matrix de-bonding, and fiber fracture. The thermal curing of fiber-reinforced epoxy resin generally takes several hours. The thermal diffusion coefficient between fibers and resin matrix is different, and the interface is more susceptible to stress concentration or relaxation, which reduces the performance of the composite material. Under microwave irradiation conditions, the curing time can be significantly shortened, the residual internal stress of the cured material can be reduced, and the inter-facial force between the substrate and fibers can be increased, thereby improving the strength and rigidity of the composite material.

4. Pre-impregnation process

The fiber winding process includes: wet winding, dry winding, and semi-dry winding.

Wet winding is the process of impregnating fibers and then directly winding them onto the inner liner. It requires minimal equipment investment and strict control of tension, and is easy to have formation of bubbles during curing.

Dry winding is the process of heating pre-impregnated fabric on a winding machine to a viscous flow state and winding it onto the inner liner. The content of impregnating solution on the fibers can be accurately measured and controlled, resulting in stable product quality. The winding speed can reach 100-200 m/min, but the investment in pre-impregnated equipment is high.

Semi-dry winding is the process of impregnating fibers, followed by immediate pre-drying, and then winding them onto the inner liner.

After the completion of the project, the production scale of the product will be 100,000 hydrogen storage cylinders/year.

It aims to further enhance the industrial carrying capacity, improve independent innovation capability, consolidate, enhance and optimize industrial structure, promote quality improvement, capacity expansion, refinement and strength improvement of characteristic leading industries such as biochemistry, food processing, equipment manufacturing (including oilfield supporting equipment), biomedicine, and modern logistics, focus on cultivating a number of high-tech enterprises and private technology enterprises, and strive to build six major industrial parks including Sino-US Cargill Biochemical Industrial Park, Food Processing Industrial Park, Equipment Manufacturing (Oilfield Supporting Equipment) Industrial Park, Medical and Health Industrial Park, High-tech Industry Incubation Park, and Logistics Industrial Park. It highlights the development of high-yield, efficient, high-quality, and safe suburban modern agriculture, with a focus on enriching the “basket of vegetables” for the urban residents. It continuously accelerates agricultural technological progress and innovation, improves the level of agricultural mechanization, enhances agricultural production efficiency and comprehensive production capacity, and accelerates the construction of a modern agricultural system. In accordance with the overall requirements for prosperous industries, livable ecology, civilized rural culture, effective governance, and affluent living, we will comprehensively implement the rural revitalization strategy and promote the process of urban-rural integration in combination with the actual situation of the Economic Development Zone.

Sino-US Cargill Biochemical Industrial Park. It is located in the western part of the central modern industrial and logistics industrial area, covering an area of 3.711 million square meters. Taking Cargill Bio-chemical Co., Ltd., and Tianyuan Bio-chemical Co., Ltd., etc. as the leading enterprises, we will fully leverage the advantages of corn resources in the region to build a deep industrial chain system centered on deep-processed core products. We will focus on developing corn deep-processing, corn-based bio-pharmaceuticals, corn-based biomass energy, vigorously develop water-saving high-end corn products, continue to expand the scale of the bio-chemical industrial park, promote fine processing, extend the industrial chain, improve the industrial layout, and create a national carrier-level corn bio-chemical industrial base.

Food Processing Industrial Park. It is located in the central part of the central modern industrial and logistics industrial area, covering an area of 3.57 million square meters. Centering on the advantages of millions of tons of grain and millions of livestock resources in Songyuan City, we will support existing enterprises such as Juda Rice and Panpan Food to become big and strong. We will focus on developing small food, frozen food, rice processing, corn processing, livestock and poultry processing, mung bean processing, and feed processing, etc., and extend the food processing industrial chain. We will build a green organic food processing base with significant scale advantages and regional competitiveness.

Equipment Manufacturing (Oilfield Supporting Equipment) Industrial Park. It is located in the central part of the central modern industrial and logistics industrial area, covering an area of 2.6 million square meters. We will continue to rely on the industrial advantages of Jilin Oilfield, cultivate and expand supporting industries such as machinery manufacturing, make big and strong leading enterprises of oilfield vehicle re-fitting factories and Huanyu Petroleum Equipment, etc., and build an oilfield supporting industrial base. Led by Xinyan Moshine, we will promote the construction of agricultural machinery industry base, and create a nationally influential agricultural machinery and equipment manufacturing industry cluster. Taking the province’s support for the return of FAW’s supporting facilities as an opportunity, we will introduce relevant enterprises and cultivate the auto parts industry.

Medical and Health Industrial Park. It is located in the south of the central modern industrial and logistics industrial area, covering an area of 795,500 square meters. Taking Huaqiao Pharmaceutical and Bainian Hank as the leading enterprises, and relying on the existing industrial foundation, we will expand the development space, increase efforts to introduce pharmaceutical manufacturers, attract more pharmaceutical production logistics projects such as Chinese patent medicine processing, bio-pharmaceuticals, pharmaceutical intermediates, etc. into the park with more preferential policies, focus on the development of innovative drugs, introduce dominant strain resources and advanced technologies, and create an industrial park with distinctive characteristics.

Logistics Industrial Park. It is located in the south part of the central modern industrial and logistics industrial area, covering an area of 539,100 square meters. Education Industrial Park. It is located in southeast of the high-end commercial-residential and modern service area along the Songhua River in the northern region, covering an area of 1.59 million square meters. We will introduce high-quality educational resources, build a comprehensive education industrial park of regional leading level that integrates basic education, preschool education, vocational education, training education, and international education, etc., and promote and lead the modernization process of education throughout the city.

Cultural and Tourism Industrial Park. It is located in east and central part of the high-end commercial-residential and modern service area along the Songhua River in the northern region, covering an area of 0.93 million square meters. We will focus on developing tourism industries such as cultural film and television, folk customs of the Great Mongolia and Yuan Dynasty, leisure and entertainment, specialty cuisine, and high-end accommodation, etc., and strive to create new growth points for tourist economy throughout the city.

It is located in northeast of the high-end commercial-residential and modern service area along the Songhua River in the northern region, covering an area of 0.6 million square meters. Relying on the favorable ecological environment and climate conditions along the Songhua River, we will integrate medical treatment, health, health preservations, elderly care, leisure, and tourism, etc. by taking medical rehabilitation as the starting point and endpoint and taking big health industry as the core, to form an industrial park with distinctive characteristics.
