Automobile and Parts
100000-set/year Automotive Plastic Parts Project of Liaoyuan City
1 Introduction to the Project
1.1 Project background
1.1.1 Product introduction
Automotive plastic parts generally refer to all plastic parts and components except for the automotive frame, which are collectively referred to as plastic automotive parts. Because plastics are characterized by lightweight, durability, cost-effectiveness and high degree of design freedom, they can meet various needs in automobile manufacturing.
At present, the main plastics used in automobiles are polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polyamide (PA), acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer (ABS), polycarbonate (PC), polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyoxymethylene (POM), etc.
According to the usage location, they can be divided into the following types:
The construction site of the project is located in Liaoyuan High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Jilin Province, relying on the industrial foundation of Liaoyuan City, using composite materials to produce automotive plastic parts such as automotive instrument panels, automotive seat accessories, and automotive interior and exterior trim parts.
1.1.2 Market prospect
(1) Market prospect of automotive parts industry
The automotive parts industry is the foundation of the automobile industry, and in recent years, with the technological progress and the rapid development of new energy vehicles, the industry has ushered in new development opportunities. At present, the automotive parts industry is developing in the direction of electrification and intelligence, and significant breakthroughs have been made in key technologies such as thermal management, lightweight, and battery packs. At the same time, the independent development and design capabilities of enterprises in the industry are also gradually improving, and a number of large-scale parts enterprises with independent development and design capabilities have risen.
At present, China has gradually formed six major industrial clusters, including: the Yangtze River Delta industrial cluster with Shanghai, Jiangsu Province and Zhejiang Province as the core, the southwest industrial cluster with Chongqing and Sichuan Province as the core, the Pearl River Delta industrial cluster with Guangdong as the core, the Northeast industrial cluster with Jilin Province, Liaoning Province and Heilongjiang Province as the core, the Central industrial cluster with Hubei Province, Hunan Province and Anhui Province as the core, and the Bohai Rim industrial cluster with Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province as the core. The output value of parts in these six industrial clusters accounts for about 80% of the whole industry. This layout is conducive to the sustainable and healthy development of China's automotive parts industry, and gradually transitioning to a centralized and specialized mature market stage. Among them, the output value of parts in the Yangtze River Delta accounts for about 37% of the share, which is the largest area in the output value of domestic automotive parts; Shanghai is the largest parts industry base in China, with an output value accounting for 20% of the total output; Zhejiang and Jiangsu account for about 17%. From a regional point of view, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai have a strong foundation for the development of parts enterprises, accounting for more than 60%, and enterprises in Henan, Shaanxi and Sichuan have risen. Overall, the parts industry is gradually advancing to the central and western regions, with the number of enterprises accounting for more than 20%, and the parts enterprises in the central and western regions continue to rise.
With the continuous improvement of the domestic automotive parts manufacturing level and the development of new energy vehicles, the automotive parts industry has also developed rapidly. The revenue of automotive parts manufacturing industry in 2022 was about 4.1953 trillion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 3.16%, and in 2023 it was about 4.4086 trillion yuan. The revenue of automotive parts manufacturing industry in 2024 further increased to 4.62 trillion yuan.
In 2022 and 2023, China's automotive parts exports continued to maintain stable growth, with year-on-year increases of 7.31% and 8.10% respectively, reaching 81.089 billion yuan and 87.661 billion yuan. In the future, with the continuous improvement of China's automotive parts enterprises in quality management systems, global supply capabilities, and international product certification, the international market competitiveness of China's automotive parts enterprises will gradually enhance, and the export market still has good development prospects.
Overall, the development of China's automotive parts industry is good, the global competitiveness is constantly increasing, but the overall situation of big but not strong has not been completely changed, and there is still a significant gap compared to the current development status of China's vehicle industry. At present, the ratio of the output value of China's automotive parts industry to that of the vehicle is about 1:1, far lower than the ratio of 1.7:1 in countries with mature automobile industry. China's automotive parts industry still has huge development potential.
(2) Market prospect of automotive plastic parts
With the development of the trend of lightweight and environmental protection of automobiles, replacing steel with plastic has become the development trend of automobiles. New plastics such as modified plastics and high-performance plastics are more and more widely used in automobile manufacturing, which greatly promotes the development of the automotive plastic parts market.
In 2023, China's production of automotive plastic parts reached 6.14 million tons, and the total market demand reached 5.689 million tons; it is expected that by 2030, China's production of automotive plastic parts will reach 8.901 million tons, and the total market demand reached 8.178 million tons.
Under the combined effect of the steady development of the domestic automobile manufacturing industry, the steady increase in the penetration rate of new energy vehicle models, the growth of single-vehicle plastic usage, and the increase in car ownership, the demand for domestic automotive plastic parts will continue to grow. It is expected that by 2030, the domestic automotive plastic parts market size will be 174.191 billion yuan, the new vehicle supporting market size will be 162.932 billion yuan, and the renewal and maintenance market size will be 11.259 billion yuan.
The automotive plastic parts industry will show trends such as continuous growth in market size, obvious trend in lightweight and environmental protection, accelerated development of technological innovation and intelligence, coordinated development of industry chain, and intensified market competition. These trends will bring new development opportunities and challenges for the automotive plastic parts industry.
Relying on the industrial foundation of Liaoyuan City, the project uses composite materials to produce automotive plastic parts such as instrument panels, seat accessories, interior and exterior trim parts, etc., with a broad market prospect.
1.1.3 Technical analysis
According to the product characteristics of different automotive plastic parts, different types of molding processing methods are usually selected, mainly including injection molding, compression molding, lamination, blow molding, foaming, blister molding, slush molding, etc., the technology is mature and stable, and large-scale production has been realized.
