1. Introduction to the Project

1.1 Introduction to technical achievements

CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) simulation software is a research and development design software in industrial software, which can simulate different physical fields such as structural stress, heat dissipation, vibration, electromagnetic and fluid, etc. The software developed for specific types of engineering or products for product performance analysis, prediction, and optimization is called the specialized CAE software; the software that can analyze, simulate, predict, evaluate, and optimize the physical and mechanical properties of various types of engineering and products to achieve product technological innovation is called the universal CAE software.

1.2 Technical analysis and advantages

1.2.1 Core technical analysis

The project adopts simulation technologies such as SciFEA, a fully autonomous and controllable high-efficiency simulation platform, multi physics field coupling analysis, and bridge reliability assessment (RAB).

1.2.2 Technological innovation and advantages

The project is based on the expertise in multi-physics field coupling analysis and the technological advantages of high-performance computing, and develops the industrial simulation system software. The system runs through the entire lifecycle of products and engineering, and is based on a universal system. The service mode is professionally customized according to different usage scenarios.

1.3 Main products and applications of technical achievements

The main products of the project include optimization engines for heat exchange stations, smart oilfield management systems, and bridge reliability assessment and application.

In the product development stage, CAE can effectively simulate and inspect parts and products, determine the relevant technical parameters of products and parts, discover product defects, optimize product design, and greatly reduce product development costs. It can analyze the causes of product failures and quality factors during the product maintenance and repair phase. CAE is mainly applied in some industries such as automotive, aviation, electronics, civil engineering, general machinery, weapons, nuclear energy, petroleum, and chemical engineering.

1.4 Stage of technological achievements

The project has completed one industrialization item and one item is currently under research.

1.5 Technical team

The research and development entity of the independently controllable CAE industrial simulation software is Jilin Fengrui Technology Co., Ltd., which was established in September, 2023. The company has absorbed the high-end technical team and strategic resources. The technical team has accumulated more than 120 typical industry applications over 20 years, including structural analysis, fatigue analysis, thermal analysis, electromagnetic analysis, optimization analysis, and other product module matrices. The fully autonomous and controllable SciFEA finite element analysis system has been formed, which can be widely applied in scientific research and teaching. At present, the information of the technical team leaders in the company is as follows:

Qian Huashan (Multi-physics Field Coupling Expert) holds a PhD in Solid Mechanics from Beijing Jiaotong University, an expert in the Chinese Mechanical Accounting Software Professional Group, Vice Chairman of the China Industrial Service Alliance, and the head of the “Supercomputing Finite Element Analysis System” of the National Torch Program. He has hosted and participated in nearly 100 national natural science major projects, national science and technology support projects, and industry application projects, with over 20 years of development and application experience in the field of industrial modeling and computing.

Professor Fu Xiangrong (Expert in High-performance Computing Units) holds a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from the Department of Civil Engineering at Tsinghua University and a postdoctoral position from the Department of Mechanics and Engineering Science at Peking University. He was awarded the Annual “Highly Committed Award” by Emerald Publishing Co., Ltd. and the second prize of the National Natural Science Award.

Dr. Gao Ying (a leading talent in the energy field) is a postdoctoral fellow of the Institute of Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a doctor of the University of Science and Technology Beijing. He has 12 years of work experience in the field of CAE. He has participated in the research and development of simulation calculation in many projects such as oil, environment, and ocean, and is good at numerical simulation development and the realization of simulation technology in the oil field.

Tao Zhaosheng (software engineering, agile engineering consultant) has over 20 years of experience in software engineering and was an outstanding agile coach at Huawei. His areas of expertise in consulting include software engineering and agility, software architecture and design, code quality, and software testing.

Pang Qingwu (CTO) is a Ph.D. student in Management Science and Engineering at Shanghai Jiaotong University. He has served as the Rating Director of Henan Branch of United Credit Management Co., Ltd., an independent director of Makelumer, a council member of the Global Industry Empowerment Center (Songshanhu), and the Vice President of Diyi International. He has rich experience in the industry research, industry-university-research alliances, and industry chain restructuring.

2. Market Potential Analysis

The scale of the global industrial software industry has been continuously increasing since 2016, reaching 477.95 billion US dollars in 2022. According to the data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, as of 2022, the scale of China’s industrial software market has reached 240.7 billion RMB. However, the proportion of China’s industrial software market to the global market size is only 7%, which is far lower than China’s industrial added value accounting for about 30% of the global industrial added value. Core industrial software is the 13th of the 35 bottleneck projects, seriously threatening the resilience and security level of China’s industrial chain. There have been multiple bottleneck crises in the domestic industrial software field such as power outages and security backdoors. 70% of the market in industrial design and 90% of the market in industrial simulation are monopolized by foreign giants such as ANSYS, MathWorks, Dassault, Siemens, Altair, MSC, etc.

At the 6th China Industrial Software Development High-level Forum, the Software Service Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stressed the importance of industrial software development. As an important entry point to implement the “Made in China 2025” and “Internet” action plans, industrial software has become a key part of the successful implementation of a series of national strategies. It also points out that the “Made in China 2025” and “Internet” action plans will bring new requirements and opportunities to the development of industrial software. Since the 21st century, on the one hand, the CAE technology has rapidly developed with the development of computer technology, especially high-performance computing. Various simulation algorithms have emerged, and the simulation accuracy and efficiency of software have greatly improved. The commercial application fields have rapidly expanded. At the same time, the concentration of the CAE industry is constantly increasing. In order to improve analytical technology, expand application areas and market scope, large software companies are increasing the market size of the CAE industry as the downstream industry demand continues to expand.

3. Financing Needs and Purposes

The project is planned to raise 30 million yuan to establish the Changchun Industrial CAE Software R&D Center and invest in an energy management subsidiary.

4. Analysis of Technical Achievements and Benefits

4.1 Economic benefits

After the commercialization of the technical achievements of the project, it can generate a market value of approximately 200 million yuan.

4.2 Social benefits

With the joint efforts of the government, the industry, academia, and research, the simulation technology, as an important component of industrial software, is expected to play a greater role, achieve wider integration and application, and promote the construction of Digital China. It is of great significance for enhancing the core competitiveness of China’s equipment manufacturing industry and ensuring national strategic security.
